PROFILE
The Sabatini brothers opened their original Sabatini Ristorante Italiano in Rome in 1954, and went on to open two other restaurants overseas, including this one in The Royal Garden more than 20 years ago. It is the quintessential Roman Italian restaurant experience.
MUST TRY
Linguine with scampi, clams and mussels.
AMBIENCE
A rustic villa décor, with Roman arches, a low ceiling, a tiled floor, crisp tablecloths, candles, and a twinkling warmth that evokes the spirit of Italian dining.
SERVICE
Most of the staff have been here for a long time, and they combine an easy informality with a gentle and welcoming sense of humor. They are also very knowledgeable about both dishes and the rather magnificent wine list, which sports labels from all the wine-producing regions of Italy.
FOOD
Claudio Favero has recently joined Sabatini as chef de cuisine, and whilst following the Sabatini traditions he also adds a modern direction, along with the seasonal produce and fine ingredients such as Wagyu beef, Boston Maine lobster, Oscietra caviar, and black and white truffle. Along with the a la carte, there is a tasting menu. Desserts are served from the traditional trolley.
PRICING
HK$350 upwards, tasting menu HK$1,380 per person.
SUMMARY
