He emphasized the importance of recognizing tourism as a key industry rather than just an activity, urging a strategic approach to sustainable growth.

Addressing the upcoming UNWT Secretary-General election, St. Ange voiced his support for candidate Gloria Guevara, former Minister of Tourism of Mexico, and her running partner Mohamed Faisal, stating that their leadership would bring much-needed industry expertise to the organization.

St. Ange also discussed his presidential aspirations for Seychelles, stressing the need for political balance and governance oversight. He underscored the importance of ensuring that parliamentary powers act as an effective counterbalance to the presidency in the country’s political landscape.

While at ITB Berlin, Alain St. Ange was once again honored with the prestigious PATWA Gold Award for Lifetime Achievement in Tourism, recognizing his enduring contributions to the global travel industry.
