Charcoal Tandoor Grill and Mixology was established by Soho Hospitality, Bangkok’s multifaceted interiors design and F&B firm offer something different to the city’s dining scene. The restaurant offers exclusively delicious kebabs suffused with authentic aromas and secrets of tandoori cooking.

MUST TRY:
The ginger, chilli and coriander seasoned lamb seekh kebab and the murgh malai kebab.

AMBIENCE
The interior is impressively decorated with subtle and playful Indian touches where meticulous attention to detail is evident through the Vintage copper cups hunted in Delhi alleyway markets or custom made for the restaurant, including the ceramic plate ware. While the place is beautifully designed, the chintzy paper mats and bib napkins are off and detract. Outdoor seats are positioned next to the swimming pool with a view of the city beyond. The bar is well stocked with a great variety of creative as well as classic drinks.

SERVICE
The staff at Charcoal is extremely knowledgeable and helpful in giving suggestions on what to eat, the level of the spices and cocktails to drink.

FOOD
Kebabs are the king of the menu in Charcoal and they don’t serve curry though the menu offers a wide range of kebabs and grills, ranging from vegetarian to meats and seafood. It is recommended to have a taste of Mumbai staple ‘Paan’ small snack of nuts and sweet flavourings wrapped in betel leaf with it’s aromatic, savoury, sweet, minty and refreshing taste when you dine there. The bar is not left out, stocked with a great variety of creative as well as classic drinks.

SUMMARY
With Charcoal Tandoor emphasising on the concept of ‘fun’ dining, rather than ‘fine’ dining, only a few restaurants can match its quality of tandoori cooking in Bangkok. Prices are on the higher side and drinks share equal billing with the glorious culinary delights at Charcoal.
