At Sorn, Chef Supaksorn Jongsiri, serves his Southern Thailand home food in an elegant setting in Bangkok. Each course is exquisitely prepared using only ingredients sourced directly from Southern Thailand.

PROFILE
Sorn is located in Phrom Pong in an elegant converted, two-story wooden mansion. The main dining room has two long tables for up to half a dozen diners each, decked out in a calming colour palette of cream tones and warm wood furniture. The kitchen is separated by a glass mirror and a row of greenery. For more private diners, Sorn offers upstairs small, partitioned areas.

AMBIENCE
The 90 years old mansion retains much of its original structure and the sleek interiors reminds guests of Thailand’s southern rain-forests. The interior is elegant, featuring golden and warm colors and lots of wood.

FOOD
Sorn focuses on traditional cooking techniques, from charcoal to clay pot to fermentation and emphasizes on using only the freshest ingredients painstakingly sourced from 14 southern provinces of Thailand. Sorn occasionally uses modern techniques to optimize the flavors of certain ingredients. The menu includes 22 different dishes starting from the tiny little sand mole crabs on a powder of seaweed and chilli, followed by a small slab of raw Phuket lobster maintained at a temperature of 2° degrees centigrade, and forming one creamy bite. The yellow curry with young mangosteen and gu fish is fresh and fragrant. Another exceptional dish on the menu is the grilled crispy pork belly, perfectly crunchy and golden skin, with a wonderful ratio of fat to meat to crispness served with a dipping sauce made from khua Kling curry paste. A small selection of wines is available.

SERVICE
The staff delivers an impeccable service amidst artfully presented dishes. The waiters guides you through each course, explaining the origin of each ingredients.
