OVERVIEW
Set in the midst of an artfully landscaped riverside garden on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the main wooden Thai house has two separate dining areas, and guests have the option of dining in the air-conditioned restaurant or al fresco. Several separate dining areas are set in the midst of the beautifully landscaped gardens, planted with an abundance of native flora. Tables are set on the beautifully decorated terrace with views overlooking the gardens and the river.
MUST-TRY
Kaeng Born, Suan Thip Light Curry, and Kaeng Kee Lek, a Herb Curry Served with Salted Fish.
FOOD
With an impressive menu selection of authentic Thai cuisine, Suan Thips is famous for its curries, Kaeng Born and Kaeng Kee Lek (yellow curry with Siamese cassia), prepared with salted dried Spanish mackerel and Thai mackerel. The curries are paired with side dishes that offset the intense flavors of the main dish; salted eggs or crispy small fish. Other favorites at Suan Thip include Miang, served with toasted coconut, lotus seeds, and lotus petal wraps sourced from the lotus flowers grown in the restaurant’s garden; and Nam Prik Nakhon Ban, a spicy relish cooked with hairy eggplant, Madan, and crispy snakehead fish. The a-la-carte menu features a vast choice of traditional Thai and international dishes, including appetizers, salads, soups, and main courses.
SERVICE
Staff are unhurried and provide prompt and friendly service at a steady pace.
