PROFILE
Since opening its doors, J’aime by Jean-Michel Lorain has had one overwhelming vision: to offer diners a truly incomparable culinary journey inspired by an innate talent, which can only come from the creativity and imagination of a highly-respected Michelin Star chef showcasing 25 years such as Jean-Michel Lorain.
MUST TRY
Steamed umemadai served with celeriac julienne and truffle butter, a recipe passed down from generation. J’aime serves delicate, melt-in-your-mouth Japanese sea bream and fragrant truffle butter with style.
AMBIENCE
The interior is unique with its ‘upside down’ concept including a grand piano hanging from the ceiling. It is comfortable, yet homey and non-pretentious. Guests can expect a classic French dining experience in a romantic atmosphere.
SERVICE
Enjoy a personal and very warm, welcoming service at J’aime by the maître d’ Marine Lorain. Experienced staff are attentive but not overbearing. Here, you can always count on the expert sommelier to recommend the perfect accompaniment to every dish.
FOOD
Returning to its French roots, J’aime serves creative, mouthwatering dishes made with the finest locally-sourced ingredients and imported delicacies such as truffles and sea urchins. The eight-course menu feels like a journey full of pleasant surprises, as we try and test artfully constructed recipes, discovering interesting textures like the delightful crunch of chocolate and cardamom sweet potato skins, and heavenly bursts of umami every now and then. Seemingly simple dishes like the “Fruit Salad with a scent of Provence” shines with subtle flavors, the citrusy notes beautifully complementing the cream. The “Scallop and sea urchin tartare” may be one of the best appetizers we ever had.
